The bathroom is one of the most used rooms at home and many people dont give it a second thought. After all it is not a room that people enjoy spending their time in. Or do they? The fact is that many people find their bathroom their sanctuary of relaxation in times of stress. Not only that but enjoying a hot bath while reading a good book is one of the secret pleasures of many women today. So neglecting the decor aspect of the bathroom is a big mistake. There are so many bathroom color tips and ideas for your bath and shower that you can use to make this sanctuary a space that is truly pleasing to the eye. Everyone has a different idea of what the best colors for this room are, and this is a good thing since it creates a nice and welcome diversity from home to home. So here are some bathroom color tips that you can use in your own sacred space.
Paint colors for bathrooms can be more daring then what youd use in the rest of the house. Bathrooms are contained so you wont have to continue the color scheme in a different room. Your master bath can be a room thats just for you. If you want a daring or darker color then just use it on half of the wall. Paint a lighter color on the top half or the top third of the wall and then separate the spaces with a wide molding or plate rail. This will compensate for a powder room or space that doesnt have tile. The best bathroom color is usually a cool tone simply because these colors recede. Bathrooms are often the smallest spaces in a house so cool or lighter colors will make it seem bigger. These include shades of purple, gray, blue or green.
In many homes the bathroom is the one area that is most neglected in the entire room. It is a small room which is mostly painted in white or a sickly green. However nowadays many homeowners started paying more attention to their own bathrooms and giving it that importance that it deserves. There are some interesting trends in modern bathrooms regarding color that are touching on bolder and brighter shades. You can go with burgundy or a strong and cheerful yellow or even an energizing teal. Many people also like the seaside designs with the refreshing ocean blues and greens. You can go here with bright turquoise and some rich violet shades that can be in the wall tiles or wall color. While I personally dont like brown, there is a strong trend in employing browns and blues on walls. For example you could use the wall painted in brown and then add blues as accents or patterned tiles on the walls, floors and even shower stalls. Also brown cabinets seem to be quite trendy today. Many people still prefer the neutral colors, and that is also OK as neutral is always in fashion. All you need is add a couple of highlighting accents, a few shades of brown or gray, or different shades of the very same color. The classic white which used to be quite strong is nowadays replaced with a soft and muted off-white strongly reminiscent of whipped cream. There are many shades of white that you can use and it gives the bathroom a nice effect when you alternate between them.
You can also buy the decorative towels that are embroidered and are accentuated with motif. So you can not be too frugal when you want to decorate your bath room although accessorizing and decorating bathroom is the least expensive that any other room decor of your home. You will also find one range with fringes, piping, laces to further add style. There are numerous choices that will help you to decorate your bathroom along with other accessories like bath rugs, bath mats, shower curtain etc. You can also buy the matching set of face towels and wash towels. Some brands like Avanti, JC Penny also provide the other accessories like toothbrush holders, soap dispenser and tissue paper holders having similar patterns as on towels.
Bathroom tile designs can be a lifesaver if youre trying to make small bathrooms appear more spacious. Brightness creates the illusion of space, so choose light colored tiles. If thats too plain for what you have in mind, insert white accent tiles into your pattern. However, take care not to go crazy with color because the room will end up being too busy. There are beautiful ceramic tiles on the market that are still interesting, but save the work of creating a pattern yourself. When in doubt - hire bathroom contractors. It costs a little more but its money well spent. No stylish bathroom is complete without a beautiful floor. Its best to use a warm color for floor tiling to offset the cool look of the fixtures. While white and neutral colors such as almond and gray remain the most popular for bathrooms, colors are becoming more popular.
When remodeling your bathroom in the classic era, you should naturally purchase fixtures that mirror the classic period designs. You could start by focusing on the bath tub that you want. Vintage bath tubs are available in different models and finishes. For the design, you could choose between a claw foot tub and pedestal tub. These could be available in different finishes like cast iron, copper, steel with porcelain coating, and acrylic. If youre tired of the usual claw foot tub, the pedestal tub is a good alternative. This has an elevated front portion that slopes down at the middle or it could also have parallel level edges. Unlike the claw foot tub, this doesnt have any feet, but a wooden oval-shaped base as a support. It also doesnt have any faucet drilling that allows water level to be deeper - you use freestanding or wall-mounted faucets for pedestal tubs.
